Trás-os-Montes is a region of Portugal known for its rich winemaking tradition.

Located in the northeast of Portugal, Trás-os-Montes is characterized by mountainous landscapes and a continental climate, which provide favorable conditions for growing vineyards.


The wines produced in this region reflect the unique characteristics of the local terroir. Autochthonous grape varieties, such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, among others, are frequently used in the production of red wines, while white varieties, such as Malvasia Fina, Viosinho and Rabigato, are more common in white wines.


Wines from Trás-os-Montes come in a wide variety of styles, from full-bodied and intense red wines to fresh and aromatic white wines.

Furthermore, the region is also known for the production of fortified wines, such as Port Wine. (or fine wine, as it is known in some parts of the region)


Among the best-known wines from Trás-os-Montes are the wines from the Denomination of Controlled Origin (DOC) of Trás-os-Montes, which guarantee the quality and authenticity of the wines produced in the region.


Wines from Trás-os-Montes have gained recognition both nationally and internationally, thanks to their quality and diversity.
